After becoming airborne he noticed that the fuel pressure had dropped to 15 pounds on the main tank and upon checking both main and auxiliary again the pressure varied between 10 - 15 pounds. He flew for about ten minutes on main and thn switched over the belly tank. At the end of an hour he headed back for base, switching to auxiliary as he did so; the pressure then dropped to zero. Turning on the fuel boost and main tank did no good. Après avoir décollé, il a remarqué que la pression de carburant avait chuté à 15 livres sur le réservoir principal et après avoir vérifié à nouveau le réservoir principal et auxiliaire, la pression variait entre 10 et 15 livres. Il a volé pendant une dizaine de minutes sur le principal et a ensuite basculé sur le réservoir ventral. Au bout d'une heure, il retourna à la base, passant comme auxiliaire au passage ; la pression est alors tombée à zéro. L'activation de l'alimentation en carburant et du réservoir principal n'a servi à rien. Depuis une altitude d'environ 1500 pieds avec le moteur mort, il a posé l’avion sur le ventre.
