Rapport: - (1. Nature of Accident: a. Aicraft #42-75740 landed long and rolled into aircraft #42-75964 which had landed ahead of it. b. The collision of various components of the two aircraft plus the chopping effect of the propeller of aircraft #42-75740 resulted in irreparable damage to both ships. 2. Cause of Accident: a. Landing of aircraft #42-75964 was normal in every respect absolving it's pilot, Lt McGilvary, of any responsibility for the accident. b. Aircraft #42-75740 approached with excessive airspeed and hence landed very long. The airspeeed indicator of this plane was not functining accurately.Original) - source : Accident Report - AFHRA: 1. La collision de divers composants des deux avions ainsi que l'effet de hachage de l'hélice de l'avion #42-75740 ont causé des dommages irréparables aux deux navires. 2. Cause de l'accident : a. L'atterrissage de l'avion #42-75964 était normal à tous égards, dégageant son pilote, le Lt McGilvary, de toute responsabilité dans l'accident. b. L'avion n° 42-75740 s'est approché à une vitesse excessive et a donc atterri très longtemps. L'anémomètre de cet avion ne fonctionnait pas correctement. |
