Personnes ayant aidé aux évasions: Henry Blouquet (Doullens) et Ernest Hemery (Lucheux), M Petit (Barly), M Chretienne, Maurice Bachelet et Auguste Hornoy (Fosseux), Hilda Weller (Avesnes-le-Comte), Emile Bachelet (Hauteville)

Les 6 membres qui ont évacué l'avion sont : 1Lt Hedin - T/Sgt McCracken - S/Sgt O'Leary - S/Sgt Leibring - S/Sgt Zyglowicz et S/Sgt Girard.
Le pilote, grièvement blessé aux jambes, et le Co-Pilote, blessé également, ont ensuite posé l'avion avec à bord le T/Sgt Fallesen et le corps du 2Lt Altman (tué par un tir direct d'obus de 20mm).
Le Lt Carpenter a été admis à l'Hopital Calmette de Lille, amputé d'une jambe et est décédé de la gangrène quelques jours après.

S/Sgt Clarence P Leibring (#1469) was tail-gunner of B-17 42-39991 Look Homeward Angel which was shot down on 4 March 1944 returning from the Ruhr. Leibring baled out and landed near St Amand (Nord Pas-de-Calais) where he was soon sheltered. Following a German raid, Leibring was moved by the Bordeaux-Loupiac organisation to stay with Ernest Hemery at Lucheux (Somme) for three weeks before moving on to somewhere near Pommier. Another German raid (18 April) forced him to return to Lucheux from where he was moved first to Doullens and then to Mme Vignon at Amiens, where he remained until the liberation.
