Extrait d'ORB: - (A patrol led by F/O Palmer took off at 0930 hrs but shortly after the take off P/O Matthews had to return and land as his locker flap was usidone. He took off again and was told by R/T communication that the patrol was on its way. He followed and overtook the patrol at Metz but was at a lower altitude and did not see the others above in. Hee then flow in a south-westerly direction with the intention of returning to Vassincourt but after flying on this course for thirty minutes he could not find his whereabout. He eventually forced landed near St-Dizier and owing to a nise in the ground crashed and the aircraft was damaged beyond the capacity of the unit to repair.
