Seven bombs damaged the station buildings and three tracks. From 7:15 PM to 7:28 PM, according to the German report, an aerial battle ensued between the fourteen P-38 Lightnings and ten German Focke-Wulf 190s. Four P-38s and one FW 190 were shot down in the area between Limours, Cernay-la-Ville, Boullay-les-Troux, and Choisel.Traduction en anglais) – (Texte de Roger Guernon): Le 23 juillet 1944, peu après 19 heures, quatorze P-38 américains bombardèrent la gare de Limours. Sept bombes endommagèrent les bâtiments de la gare et trois voies. De 19 h 15 à 19 h 28, selon le rapport allemand, s'en suivit un combat aérien entre les quatorze P-38 Lightning et dix Focke-Wulf 190 allemands.
