Extrait Rapport d’accident: - (Lt Byrn was on a combat mission. His engine started cutting out, and he kept it going temporarily by switching tanks. However, he could not draw enough power to keep the plane in the air and had to belly-in. The airplane has been turned over to a Depot and the cause of the failure is unknown at the present time.Original) - source : Accident Report - AFHRA: Le Lt Byrn était en mission de combat. Son moteur a commencé à se couper et il l'a maintenu temporairement en changeant de réservoir. Cependant, il n'a pas pu puiser suffisamment de puissance pour maintenir l'avion en l'air et a dû s'effondrer. L'avion a été remis à un dépôt et la cause de la panne est inconnue à l'heure actuelle.
