Traduction du rapport du 2Lt Richard E Phaneuf - (At approximately 1345, 16 November 1944, I was in take-off position at station F-342 England. I had checked my aircraft and found it OK for take-off. We only had "C" channel crystals in our aircraft, so we maintained radio silence while crossing the channel and until we arrived near site A-42, then I discovered my radio was out. I completely checked it over, then I tried to draw my flight in close enough to tell them my radio was out, but was unsuccessful. The weather had dropped to about 25 to 50 feet with visibility about 100 feet. We couldn't get in at site A-42 so we tried A-81C. I circled the perimeter of the field three times while Captain Barnaby led his flight in the land. I then went in for the breakaway over a bomber out runway, so I went around again. While I was going around the second flight went in for a landing and on my return break away I saw three ships run together after landing. I received a red light from the tower and went around again. I flew until I was out of gas in my main tank and had about ten gallons in the reserve tank. Still looking for the field, I had to make a belly landing on instruments. J'ai volé jusqu'à ce que je sois à court d'essence dans mon réservoir principal et que j'ai environ dix gallons dans le réservoir de réserve. Toujours à la recherche du terrain, j'ai dû faire un atterrissage sur le ventre aux instruments. Le seul dommage visible à l'avion était une hélice endommagée.
