Rapport W/O Keiller: - (10 Kms from Bilhausen from evacuation column on Sunday 8th April 1945 by taking refuge in wood - companion Kenneth Jones - two days free. Two days hiding in lazarette in Osterode where, after liberation by 7th division (?) american 1st Army on Wednesday 11th April, were picked up. Not fit, after marching from 22nd Jany across Germany.Original) - (Source : Questionnaire PoW – Arch UK via Ancestry – Traduction DC via Google Lens): A 10 km de Bilhausen, colonne d'évacuation le dimanche 8 avril 1945, en se réfugiant dans les bois - compagnon Kenneth Jones - deux jours libres. Deux jours cachés dans la cambuse à Osterode où, après la libération par la 7e division (?) de la 1re armée américaine le mercredi 11 avril, ils furent recueillis. Pas en forme, après avoir marché depuis le 22 janvier à travers l'Allemagne. Rapport Sgt Farrell: - (During evacuation from Stalag 8B Jan 1945, slipped guard at night. Hid with Polish family 10 Km West of Strechen. Recaptured by police after 8 days. Je me suis caché chez une famille polonaise à 10 km à l'ouest de Teschen. Repris par la police après 8 jours. En bonne santé.
