Rapport (1Lt Aldrich) - ("I was flying #4 position with Lt. Simonson as my element leader. The squadron located some well-camouflaged Me-109's on the ground at approximately 1730. On his second pass, Lt. Simonson turned out of the pattern, stating that he was losing coolant and was heading for home. I accompanied him, and we flow on a course of 320 degrees for approximately ten minutes. We climbed up to 5,000 feet and then gradually lost altitude to 1,000 feet, at which point Lt.
