Extrait de l'Accident Report (source AFHRA): Lt Thompson, a recently assigned pilot to the group was being checked off in night flying by Lt Moriarity, an experienced B-26 pilot. After over shooting their first approach and going around, the airplane landed short on the second attempt. The landing gear was washed out when the airplane hit a hole approximately 100 yards from the end of the runway. From this point the airplane skidded and Ground looped 1/4 the way down the runway where it burned. |
