Rapport d’accident: - (I was taking off on a Photographic Mission with 1Lt Hector J MacKinnon as Observer about 2030 hours on 24 Juin 1944. The obstructions at the end of the field has not been cleared sufficiently and after getting airborne about forty (40) feet, I realized that we could not clear the trees. To keep from crashing in the trees I cut the throttle and stalled the aircraft which crash landed into the edge row at the end of the field. There were no injuries to myself but Lt MacKinnon received broken nose and lacerations of the face. The aircraft was complete wreck. |
