EXTRAIT ORB: - ("More A/A fire about 0400 hours. S/Ldr KNOX out & about after his recent bout of sickness. A/A fire on e/a in the vicinity of the aerodrome at 11:30 hrs. 10th leave Port left for England today at 1200 hrs; F/O D. KAIN in charge of the party. Sky became overcast during afternoon. P/O L.G. BISHOP failed to return from a patrol, & it was later established that his office had crashed at a point 2 kilos. E of ST PRNAT LA MONTAIGNE, & was killed instantly. It is not possible to establish with any degree of certainty the cause of the accident, but as P/O BISHOP had complained only yesterday of breath difficulty with oxygen at 20,000, it may be assumed that he fainted & failed to recover before hitting the ground. P/O BISHOP was a quiet retiring disposition, very willing to learn his job, & would have proved a worthy acquisition to the squadron had he survived. His loss is deeply regretted."
Original) - (AIR 27/629/11 - source : Nat Arch UK - Traduction DC via Copilot): P/O L.G.
